A Little Design

This weekend I worked on designing a sock. This is my latest design! What do you think? I am sure there is something similar out there but I really like it anyway. It will be a free pattern here on my blog very soon. The pattern is really simple to follow but looks complicated and that is what makes it great. I think that I am going to call this sock Lizzy because I watched the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice while I was knitting it. I could watch Pride and Prejudice at least 100 times and love it every time!!!

I seem to have lost the tag. Emily could you tell us what color way this is in the comments?

Home Again

My boys arrived home safely about 4am. I am so glad that they are home. Gregory fenced very well. He took 3rd in y12 men's foil and 10th in y14 men's foils. He received a D09 with his 3rd place finish and renewed it the following day in y14. Fencers get ratings if they do well in a tournament. U means that you have no rating and then they go from E to A. A is the best. The number on the end is just the year it is received. We do not go to many tournaments that Gregory can receive a rating because of his age. When he is 13 he will have lots of opportunities but for now he is 12 and not allowed to fence adults. I will post some knitting later today. I am going to enjoy my boys for now. Trish

I love knitting socks

Socks are one of my favorite things to knit. Not fancy socks just plain old socks. It is the kind of knitting that puts me into a relaxed state. I love them. I can do so many things and still be knitting socks!
Yarn: Frog creek Fibers Quaggy
I finished these up last week and I really like them. I used the new Toe -Up Techniques for Hand-Knit Socks book. I highly recommend it.

Waiting =Stress

All day I have been stressed in a serious way. I am a wreck. I have at times shook so hard my teeth have chattered. My Eldest son is fencing in a large tournament as I write this. I have heard tidbits all day about how he is doing. The last update that I received he was in the semi finals and facing the hardest bout of the day next. Can you say stress!!!!

Trish Buttons

I am so excited!!!! These beautiful buttons have been named after me. My good friend Shelby at Heart Stone Ceramics made these gorgeous buttons just for me!!! I feel so special!

So I just had to make a sweater for my buttons.
This is the beginning of Fylingdales from A Fine Fleece.
By: Lisa Lloyd.
The yarn is Lorna's Laces Green Line Worsted in Growth.
I really love this yarn, so soft and squashy.

I really Love, Love, Love this book and I adore my buttons. What do you think?

Half my heart is driving away from me

I just have to mention that my eldest son and my husband are driving to San Jose California right now. I already miss them. They are going to a Super Regional Youth Circuit Fencing Tournament. Good luck Gregory and drive safe Bill.

So Cute

A couple days ago I met my dear friend Shelby to knit. My youngest son wanted to come along. I had to share what I thought was so cute!!!
This is Elloitt.
He is 5 years old and knitting a felted bag out of Lambs Pride Bulky. He is hoping to put all his treasures in it someday! I think that is a good plan.

Newt Caller

I went for a run this morning with my running friends Joann, Wendy and Stephanie. Joann and Stephanie are also knitters!!! We had a really nice 4.1 mile run and it was a great way to wake up. Thank you ladies!!!

I am fondly called the The Newt Caller because I run in the front and call out the newts when I see them. They are Roughskin Newts also known as Pacific Newts. They do not move out of the way when we come barreling down the trail so it is necessary to make sure that we see them. Aren't the cute?

Now I just have to get three boys up, fed and to fencing.
