In Love

I am just so in love with my new fiber business . I love to play with color and I love to spin and knit! What could be better then dyeing roving to spin and then knit. I also love to be busy all the time and this fiber thing is certainly keeping me busy. I have a little routine and I love it! I got up this morning braided roving, took a 4 mile walk came home took pictures of said roving, posted it to esty, posted an update to Ravelry and know I am speaking to all of you! Thank you all so much for being supportive. I hope that you all find something you like as much!

Oh and this is what I dyed yesterday! Do you like it????

I thought I would show you guys my Gorge inspired roving and another that reminds me of my friend Tanya! This dyeing business is a lot of fun but has been taking up most of my creative energy. I really have not felt like knitting much and I am just spinning a little. Hopefully I will get back to ALL the things I love soon! For now I am loving dyeing roving!

So I have some rambling to do!!! I really wanted to show you all a picture of my boys from Sunday!!! The daddy around these parts is a big Vikings football fan and needless to say they we ready for the game and happy at the outcome. I was at the shop working and did not take part in their little party.

I also decided that I am going to choose one of my rovings or one from the shop to spin up, to knit Ishbel for the Knitting Olympics!!! I won't decide what roving I will use until the date gets closer!!!!

Also I dyed these yesterday! What do you think?

Adventures

I went on an adventure with Shelby yesterday! We drove out to the Gorge to buy some more wool to dye. It was so pretty with all the mist and waterfalls! I need to dye some roving that reminds me of the Gorge! We bought Rambouillet fiber from a nice lady out in Carter Washington. Rambouillet is essentially a type of Merino sheep. The fiber is so soft and very nice to spin with. I came home and had to dye some up. This what I got.

This one I named after my spunky little Elliott

This one is called Color Me!

Help For Haiti

Hi everyone, I am so sad to see all the news coming out of Haiti. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be there. I am not sure if you all know that my husband works for Mercy Corps. They are a international aid organization that help people in need. They are sending a team to Haiti to help with disaster relief and I wanted to let you all know that if you are looking for a place to send a donation to help the people of Haiti, Mercy Corps is a good place to send donations. They do a lot of rebuilding and community support after disasters like this.

Thanks, Trish

Knitting Olyimpics

I have been thinking about the Knitting Olympics. Are any of you going to knit anything for the Knitting Olympics??? I am thinking that I am going to spin enough Shetland fiber to knit a Norwegian Ski Sweater for my husband. I will have to spin 2lbs of fiber!!! That could take me two weeks! YIKES!!! My other option is to spin enough fiber to knit a shawl. What do you all think?

Oh and here are some more pictures of what I dyed yesterday!!!

My Fiber Adventure

My fiber adventure has begun! I have wanted to hand dye roving for years. In truth, about 6 or maybe 7 years ago I bought dye and fiber to start a little business. The problem was I didn't have enough money to buy all the supplies to really get started and I quickly gave up. But this time I have a friend that wants to play with fiber and dye with me and we shared the cost! So we are both up and running and are ready for some fun! Wish me luck!

I should just say have fun playing with something today!

Travel

I am sitting in the Fargo airport waiting for a flight home with all my boys. We lost the matriarch of our family. She was wonderful and we will miss her.

We had a nice time visiting family and playing in the cold cold snow. Now we are on our way home and ready for life to get back to normal.
