It has been a long time!

Hello again! The world has changed so much in the last 6 months, lots of changes for me and everyone. The biggest one for me was the closing of Knitting Bee. Knitting Bee wasn't just a job or a shop to me, it was a part of my identity. It has taken me a few months to come to terms with the shop no longer existing. I will always be so greatful to Jami and all the Bees for all the years of friendship and love. With the closing of that chapter of my life I have begun a new position at another yarn shop. Close Knit in Portland will be seeing me twice a week! It is a very nice shop with tons of beautiful yarns and I love it so far. Come on over and visit.
This year I will also be focusing more on my designing and pattern writing. I love creating knitwear and I am excited about dedicating more time to designing. Who doesn't like playing with yarn! This year I have also made a commitment to growing as much food as I possibly can.I have always had a little garden but this year we stepped it up. I have also committed to buying as much of my food from local sources as I possibly can. This has led into the conversation at our house of possibly starting a mini farm. We have a big garden and chickens for now but are hoping to buy a few acres in the country in the near future! I look forward to sharing more of my adventures here with you all! It is that time of year again!

It really is that time of year again. You know that time of year when I go knit crazy and design all the things! So for at least the next few weeks I will be posting new patterns on Rav and sharing them here! First up is the super soft Wailaki Wrap! Have I told you all how much I love Malabrigo Mechita??? The pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry and for free with purchase of yarn at Knitting Bee in store or online (you just have to ask).

Seascape

Seascape is a pattern I wrote a long while back and never published online. I love the soft light feel of the fabric. I hope you do too! The pattern is available for free on Ravelry. Enjoy!

Windbreak Wrap

So when I was in Europe I couldn't help but notice that everyone wore scarves all the time! Nice light wide scarves that wrapped around. I couldn't help but be inspired to design one. This is Windbreak Wrap or you could call it a wide scarf! I love it so much and the pictures REALLY don't do it justice! The yarn is Malabrigo Mechita & of course the pattern is on ravelry as well as free at the Knitting Bee with purchase through the end of February.

Alderpoint

Another new hat off the needles. I really enjoyed designing this one. Alderpoint has a fun decrease section at the top and is styled after all the beautiful hats that I saw on my trip :) The yarn I used is Yoth Big Sister and we have it at the Knitting Bee. If you have no knit with Yoth Yarns you really must! Can I just say yummmmm.

Great trip with some designing along the way!

We just traveled to Europe to watch Gregory fence. Along the way I marched for women's rights in Paris and designed two new hats. We also went to London and it was amazing! So much fun!
