New Colorway

I dyed up a new colorway yesterday. I love it so much I might have to spin it! I am calling it Berry Toast because it reminds me of warm toast with blackberry jam:) YUMMMMMMMMMM

BFL On the Bobbin!

I have some Superwash BFL on the bobbin! I am spinning up three lengths and am going to make a three ply yarn for socks. BFL holds up really well for socks, it is very sturdy! The only problem is I don't really enjoy spinning BFL, but I really like making socks especially socks out of handspun yarn! So I guess I can put up with spinning superwash BFL.

Woke up to!

This morning we woke up to this!

It is so pretty and the boys are going to have a great time playing in it!
I am going to spend some time enjoying this! That is when I am not dyeing fiber:)

I know it looks like a blob at the moment, but it really is a beautiful scarf!

Birch

I started Birch this morning. So far I love how the yarn is knitting and the pattern is fun. I have to teach an Entrelac class tonight and I started this as a quick refresher, plus it is our KAL part of our SAL-KAL for the Rogue Adventures group on Ravelry!

Last Weekends Spinning!

I spun up a beautiful skein of merino for the SAL-KAL, this last weekend! I love how it turned out! The colorway is Provence and I will have to dye some more up soon. The finished skein is 259 yards of light DK weight yarn. Oh and yes it was N-Plied!

A New Skein

So it is getting really hard to name these posts! When I spin a lot and show off the yarn it just seems like there are not a lot of choices:) Oh well I am sure I will figure it out!
Anywho I finished spinning the Fiber I was working on the other day. I N-Plied it and I am quite happy with my yarn. I got 224 yards of DK weigh self stripping yarn:) I have no idea what I am going to make!



On another note, my awesome big boy is fencing in Dallas this weekend and he is doing pretty good. He took 63rd out of 198 in Cadet mens foil.He had a pretty hard pool and that effects where he placed overall. Two of the boys in his pool finished in the top 8. He is moving into that age group next year and we know that he is going to do even better next year. He also fencing on our Junior Mens Team yesterday and they took 2nd! He is doing great but I miss him lots! I miss the hubby too!

A Great Start to my Day!

I just got back from a really lovely hike with may dear friend Joann and two of my silly boys! It was cold and a bit icy in the woods but so sunny and beautiful! There is something about a nice hike that makes you feel so alive!


Now I have some friends coming over to spin and knit. It is shaping up to be a great day!

Afternoon Date

I have a date with my knitting and some tea and strawberries:) Oh and Pride and Prejudice:) I have finished all my dyeing for the day and now I am going to enjoy my date!

Spin to Knit Fair Isle Hat

So this week I finally knit up the yarn that I had spun for the fair isle hat kits that I dyed. I had to design a hat so that we could do a SAL-KAL and I had been putting it off. I have no idea why it took me so long to get going on this, it was so much fun! I wrote up the pattern yesterday, that was the worst part! So now I am trying to decide if I should put the pattern up for free or sell it for a buck or two. what do you guys think? It will come with the Spin to Knit kits no matter what, but anyone could use a DK to light worsted weight yarn and knit up one of these:)Let me know what you guys think!



Oh and I almost forgot, can you guys help me name it??? Please leave me a comment with a name idea!

Spinning

I am spinning up some top that I bought from beesybee on etsy. I love the colors and the top is nice. It was a little sticky so I had to fluff it up a bit but over all it is nice. I really love how the colors are spinning:) I think I will N-Ply it so that I have a nice bright striping yarn.

Work Space

I have a new desk to do my packing and shipping at:) I love it! It will make my work go so much faster and I have a great window to sit in front of! My friend Chystal and I went to Ikea yesterday, SHOPPING FUN ;) The desk part of the desk and shelf combo was supper cheap in the as is room. Thank you Chystal!

I Started

I couldn't help myself, I started Ishbel yesterday! I love how my handspun is knitting up and boy is this merino and cashmere soft!!! I finished My February socks yesterday and I let myself start this! Love it! Oh I already said that!

I think I am going to have to get some more merino and cashmere top for the shop!

Merino and Cashmere

I just finished spinning up 559 yards of soft fingering weight merino and cashmere. It is supposed to be for an Entrelac SAL-KAL that we are doing over in my Ravelry group but I really want to make Ishbel with it! I think I might have to spin something else up for the entrelac KAL:)
Oh in case you don't know SAL stands for spin along and KAL stands for knit along:)

Spin In

I was a vendor at the Newport Spin In yesterday:) It was a lot of fun. I had never vended at a fiber event before and I was a little nervous! I should have remembered that spinners and knitters are way cool and not worried at all! I met some great people and had a really fun day!

My booth was nice and small and my view of the spinners was so much fun to watch! Plus I got a bunch of spinning in too!

In a Funk

Okay guys I have been in a crafty funk this week! I am feeling better today and I am off to dye some fiber:) I just wanted you all to know that I will be back to blogging this next week:) I am going to a fiber event tomorrow, I will be vending for the first time ever. I will try to take some pictures and tell you all about it! I have nothing ready for it! So I am off to spend my day dyeing fiber:) Not much but a little.

Oh and I had to share a little inkling of spring from my yard!
