Still Playing

I am almost out of fiber to play with!!! I am still playing but it isn't going to last much longer. So sad for me. I have really had a good time playing with all this fiber. I made my last batt last night and spun up another skein this morning. I have one more skein to spin and then I am out of fiber. I think I will have to go buy some soon! So here is almost, the last of the spinning for a while. I am going to show you some knitting tomorrow I promise, I am preparing for some December classes that I am going to teach. I will have samples to show you tomorrow!

Kind Friends

My dear friend Shelby came over yesterday to spin with me for a while! A few weeks ago we went on an adventure together and bought her a spinning wheel. Boy was that a good adventure, anyway she is still learning to spin. We thought it would be fun to spin together for a while so that I could offer some advice and so that we could drink tea and chat!!! The tea and chatting is the most important part if you ask me! Anywho she brought me a beautiful bowl that she made just for me!!!! I LOVE IT! I have been saying that I need a large bowl for making bread and she made me one. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am so happy I could do a little dance. Anyway she makes beautiful thing check her out on etsy! Heartstone

Crochet

So I went crazy last week and spent some time crocheting!!!! I have not really crocheted in years, but last week I just felt like it. I crocheted the dream catcher in the earlier post and then I crocheted this trivet and now I think it is out of my system for a while.

Don't get me wrong, I really like crochet. I learned to crochet before I knit!!! It was just odd to me that I HAD to crochet for a couple of days!

Tea anyone???

So I was feeling pretty crappy yesterday and that gave me lots of time to come up with crafty ideas. By 3pm I had decided that I could not lay on the couch anymore. I drove myself to goodwill and bought and old wool sweater coat to felt and turn in to a tea cozy. I love tea, have I mentioned that?

This is what I got! My little two cup teapot is under it in the picture.

The problem is that my tea pot is really fat and the tea cozy goes on but it is snug. So I think this one is destined for the etsy shop and I will make another for me!

Not so Great

I am not feeling well today. So I think I will hunker down with Pride and Prejudice and some tea and tea cozy knitting. I think a tea cozy might just be in order to keep my teapot warm this winter. Thanks for the idea Shelby!!!! I hope you are all feeling better then I am. Trish

A day for finishing!

Yesterday I finished the baby quilt and I finished a Malabrigo Lace Weight triangular shawl. I don't have a picture of the shawl yet because I am lame! But I do have a picture of the finished quilt and I have a picture of what I started yesterday. I started a crochet project if you can believe that!!!

Fall Morning

This drum carder is really fun. I made two more batts. I really need to make one for me to spin up!!! I love mixing colors, this is making me very happy. I think that I might need more colors!

I also got the baby quilt quilted. Now I just need to do the binding!!!

Back from Camping!!!

Boy I am so glad that we stayed in a yurt. It was a blustery couple of days at the beach, but we were warm and toasty inside with a heater and electricity!!! I have never camped with suck niceties before. We made sure we went to the beach and rode our bikes when it wasn't raining, but boy we were glad for the shelter when the wind was blowing and the rain was coming down. We actually got a movie from Red Box for last night when the rain was coming down hard and we were tired of playing cards!!! Not our normal style for camping but we have never camped in October and this was our first time in a yurt.

We had some visitors at our yurt daily!

The boys thought it was great that the baby raccoons liked to wrestle just like they do!

And I spun some yarn while I was there and made a cute baby hat. Yes I brought my wheel! I new it was going to rain and I am having way to much fun with all that fiber.

This is what I came up with! What do you think? 120 yards of DK Merino love!!! I am having a lot of fun spinning, maybe to much. We are going to the coast today, to go yurt camping and I am seriously thinking I might have to bring my wheel!!!

To much fun

I am really having way to much fun spinning!!! I am still getting lots of knitting done just not finished. I started the hubby's annual sweater. It is knitting really fast and I will have it done some time during the next two weeks. I haven't show you because I just don't like to take pictures of half finished projects if I can help it. Especially the back of a sweater that really needs to be blocked! When it is done I will make him model it! Anyway back to the spinning, I bought a ton of fiber with my good friend Shelby the other day and I am having so much fun playing with it.

I think I have gone crazy!

I bought a second spinning wheel yesterday!!! I am going make to sure that it is working good and then turn around and sell it. I thought I was picking up an Ashford Traveler and it turned out to be an Ashford Traditional. I already have a Traditional so I don't need two. The price was good though so I bought it. Anyway I had to try it out so I spun up some self striping yarn on it last night and it works great and the yarn is pretty. What do you think? I listed it on etsy because I have no use for it. I was just playing. Boy I love to play, it gets me in trouble sometimes, ok to be honest it gets me in trouble all the time!

Seattle

I am off to Seattle for the weekend. My eldest has a fencing tournament on Sunday and it is my youngest's birthday. So needless to say I have a busy weekend ahead. I will let you know all about it Monday. Trish

I posted my Picot Sun Hat to Ravelry yesterday also. I also designed this one for a class. The class is over so you all can have the pattern for free, aren't I nice. If you don't want a floppy brim you will have to add some wire to the edge somehow! Enjoy!!!

And a little handspun! I bought this Fiber at Oregon Flock and Fiber this last weekend. It comes from Crown Mountain Fibers! Isn't it pretty.
